Al'ummar Kanuri sun dogara ne da **gero** (millet), wanda ake dafa shi ta hanyoyi daban-daban:
- **"Fura"** (kullun da ake hadawa da ruwa)
- **"Tuwon geron Kanuri"** (wanda ya fi kauri fiye da na Hausawa)
2. **Miya ta Musamman**
Ana zuba miya mai ɗanɗano a kan tuwon, wacce ta ƙunshi:
- **Naman akuya/rago** (ga masu arziki)
- **Gyada da barkono** (ga kowa)
- **Tattasai mai yawa** (wanda ke ba ta ɗanɗanon roɗa)
3. Bambancin Al'ada da Zamani
- **Gari**: Ana sayar da abinci a kasuwa kamar su **"Dambun Nama"** (grilled meat skewers).
- **Birni**: Ana amfani da **abincin gwangwani** (canned foods) musamman a Maiduguri.
4. Abinci a Bukukuwan Addini
- Ana yanka **awaki da tumaki** a Id al-Kabir.
- Ana kiyaye **haramun na Musulunci** (kamar shan giya).
5. **Ƙarin Bincike**
Wannan tsarin abinci ya samo asali ne daga ƙarni na 9, kamar yadda aka ruwaito a cikin littafin **"Tarihin Kanuri ta Smith"** (ba haɗin kwafi ba ne).
